The National Endowment for Democracy (NED) is a private, nonprofit foundation dedicated to the growth and strengthening of democratic institutions around the world. Each year, NED offers more than 1,700 grants to support projects undertaken by non-governmental groups abroad who are working for democratic goals in more than 90 countries.

Kosovo Oral History Initiative has been funded by NED on 2015. The funds were never specifically for oral history research on women activists, but they began with them and their first 15 interviews were with women.

The National Film Archive (NFA) is a Czech film archive that was established in 1943. Thus, it is one of the oldest film archives in the world. Since 1946, The NFA has been a member of the International Federation of Film Archives (FIAF). In 1997, it became a founding member of the Association of European Film Archives and Cinematheques (ACE).

After its founding in 1943, the NFA changed its name and organizational structure several times before it finally became a state grant-aided organization named “National Film Archives” in 1992.

The main mission of the NFA is to preserve cinematic heritage, to further public understanding, and to facilitate the development of the Czech audio-visual industry and film culture. Therefore, apart from its archival role, it also manages Czech films and is engaged in scientific and publishing activities, exhibitions, the promotion of film heritage, and the support of contemporary Czech cinema. The NFA is also involved in major digitization projects.

The NFA holds more than 150 million metres of film, more than 500,000 photos, over 30,000 posters, and 100,000 promotional materials.

National Film Archive in Warsaw is a state cultural institution which is supervised by the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. It was founded in 1955, and deals with protecting the national heritage of cinematography and disseminating the film culture. In its archives it gathers Polish and foreign film works - not just the films themselves, but also the stills, posters, scripts, collaudation materials, and recordings. In June 2017 the National Film Archive merged with the National Audiovisual Institute.

In concordance with Law No. 148/1949 Coll. on the National Gallery in Prague, the National Gallery collects, records, maintains (on a permanent basis), professionally processes and makes publicly accessible, artworks of painting, sculpture and graphic art, as well as works from the genre of what is known as “new media” of both domestic and foreign origin, and professionally researches them. It is a museum in the sense as written in the provision of § 10, par. 6 of Law No. 122/2000 Coll. regarding the protection of the nature of museum collections and the modification of several other laws.
