The Institute for German Literature has been represented at the Humboldt-University in Berlin since 1877, and has produced many renowned academics. Structurally integrated into the Faculty of Philosophy II, it has a strong focus on media and cultural studies, and deals primarily with German literature from its very beginnings to the present-day.
